“For all this they sinned still, And believed not for his wondrous works. Therefore their days did he consume in vanity, And their years in trouble.” — Psalm 78:32-33
Israel had the choice to trust God and avoid years of trouble, but they chose a difficult path. Despite past experiences showing they could trust God, they often followed a pattern of disbelief, which leads to trouble. This is similar to how Adam’s disobedience cursed the ground, making it hard to work, and how the disbelief of the ten spies of Israel resulted in an extra forty years in the desert. Our belief in God can also determine whether we have fruitful or troubled days. While life has its struggles, disbelief in God adds more trouble.
Consider the ministry where God has placed you. Do you believe He wants souls saved and Christians to mature? Do you believe He can use you and your family to make an impact, or are you just trying to survive? Your belief affects your attitude and outcome.
Belief is necessary for salvation and service. Have you witnessed God’s wondrous works in the past? God wants to continue pouring out His goodness on you. He hasn’t run out of blessings. You can be used, see fruit, and witness miracles. But how? Your belief and dependence on God are key. Decide to believe and anticipate what God can and will do in and through you.
