Vision School of Missions

After planning, conversations, and time, we are excited to announce that the name of the OGTC has been changed to Vision School of Missions (VSM). This does not change our mission, but we believe the new name will clarify the focus of our training and the connection with Vision Baptist Missions. Below, you will find the official statement.

Getting the Word Out This Fall!

We’ve been praying and working so that God would send future students, interns, and missionaries. Here are a couple of ways areas we’re getting the word out this fall:

  1. Southwide Baptist Fellowship — setting up display at pastor’s fellowship as well as the below ad in their magazine. If you are attending come by our table and lets catch up.
  2. Pensacola Christian College — Ty and Rebecca Pepperdine will be going in November to speak to students about missions.
  3. Youth for the Gospel — Dr. Jim & Mrs. Sandy have lined up several of these events to see more laborers raised up for world missions.
  4. Open House for future missionary students.
  5. Booking up meetings to present the missions school in churches this fall.

If you work with a church or Christian school, please email me. I would love to come by and speak to your young people about the need for the gospel around the world.

Missionary Highlight

This section is so you can learn more about (or be reminded of) VBM missionaries serving around the world. We will be working in alphabetical order, and the next missionary is Tyler & Brianna Chandler.

Tyler:

I did not grow up in church. I always thought that being a good person was what got you to heaven.

I met my wife in 2015 and after we dated for a year, I decided I wanted to marry her. I went to her parents to ask for their blessing to marry her. They wanted us to do marriage counseling with our pastor, so I agreed to sit down with him. The first week, my pastor shared with me what it meant to be saved and what it would look like to be a Christian. We left that night not saying much, prompting deep contemplation in the days that followed. Subsequently, at our next counseling session, after asking a few questions, I accepted Jesus as my Savior on July 25, 2017. Since then God gave me a burden to preach and a burden for souls.

Brianna:
I was fortunate to have been raised in a Christian home where my parents consistently prioritized attending church. At the age of 7, following a Wednesday night service, I came to the realization that I needed Jesus as my Savior. That very night, my mother sat me down and guided me on how to establish a personal relationship with Jesus.

As I entered my teenage years, I recognized the importance of deepening my relationship with God. I committed to daily bible reading, and growing a closer bond with Him. Subsequently, I made the decision to fully surrender my life to Jesus. Each passing day, my adoration and devotion to Him continue to grow.

We are grateful Jonathan Anderson preached chapel to the students this week.
