My Protector & My Comforter
“Thou art my hiding place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble; Thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance. Selah.” — Psalm 32:7
God is both protector and comforter! He gives a hiding place in Himself. You only need to hide if you’re afraid… and there are fearful moments in life. And when you are afraid, you can trust in Him (Psalms 56:3-4). And to add to His goodness, He provides more than protection. He also comforts with songs of deliverance. It’s a hope that He will deliver. If there’s hope of deliverance, it means the Psalmist wasn’t delivered yet, but knew he would be delivered by God.
During frightening times in life, I can seek refuge in God, surrounded by hopeful songs that assure me of His deliverance in His own time. God remains in control, offering both protection and comfort.
