Revive Us Again
“Wilt thou not revive us again: that thy people may rejoice in thee?” — Psalm 85:6
Revival carries the idea that there was once life, and it must be revived. In this context, the Psalmist remembers how God rescued His people from slavery, chose them, blessed, protected, and provided for them. And now, the Psalmist prays that God would once again revive and unite them with God.
We are not Israel, nor have we been delivered from Egyptian slavery, but we are His children and desire and require a new reminder and revival.
In what areas do you feel the need for revival? Consider your relationship with God. Can you recall a time when you were eager to share your faith, when singing felt like a prayer, and when your moments with God were intimate and personal? What about your marriage? Do you remember when walking hand in hand was enjoyable? What about your faith? Can you think of a time when you prayed for significant things and trusted God to respond? Do you remember having a simple faith that believed no worry, obstacle, or goal was too great to bring to God?
God has the power to bring revival. Just as cool embers can reignite with His presence, I urge you to call upon the God of revival to renew you once more!
