Serving the Lord, Not the Results (Part 7)
Colossians 3:23 reminds us of the ultimate anchor of ministry:
“Whatever you do, do it heartily, as unto the Lord, and not unto men.”
Results fluctuate. People leave. Circumstances change. Health fades. Plans collapse.
If our joy depends on outcomes, ministry will eventually crush us.
But if our service is anchored in obedience to Christ, nothing is wasted.
Faithfulness is never measured by visibility or success—it is measured by obedience.
When we serve the Lord:
- Our joy is protected
- Our motivation endures
- Our labor is never in vain
Seeing the kingdom clearly means remembering who we serve.
And He never forgets faithful labor.
Reflection Questions
- What currently defines “success” in your mind?
- How does serving Christ—not results—change your motivation?
- What would faithfulness look like if outcomes were removed?
