What Pleases God?!?
“He delighteth not in the strength of the horse: He taketh not pleasure in the legs of a man. The LORD taketh pleasure in them that fear him, In those that hope in his mercy.” — Psalm 147:10-11
We experience pleasure from many things, such as sports, food, friends, family, and entertainment. While these are not inherently wrong, they are not what bring pleasure to God. God takes pleasures in those who fear Him and hope in Him. Fearing God is an attitude that influences our lifestyle, thoughts, work, and behavior. Hoping in God is an outlook that assures us our service is not in vain, and keeps us moving forward. Therefore, the question arises: does God take pleasure in us, or do we need to change our attitude and outlook? Understanding what pleases Him can help us focus on what is important to Him.
