Missionary Kanon - NYC Chinatown Building

Vision

The vision of the NYC Chinatown Church Plant Building Fund is to establish a lasting gospel presence in the Chinatown area of Queens, New York City, by securing permanent facilities for Truth Baptist Church, currently led by Missionary Kanon.

As you can imagine, buildings in New York City are very expensive. We are estimating that we will need approximately 1.5-2 million dollars to purchase a building large enough to seat 70-100 people. The church is currently renting a building that can fit 50 chairs in the auditorium. Rent is also very expensive, with the church currently spending $3200 a month on this space.

We are praying to be able to raise $500,000 towards a down payment and other potential closing/remodel costs. When we are able to have the money saved for a healthy down-payment, it would help the church be in a position to be able to purchase their own building using a loan to cover the remaining amount. The church would then have a permanent home and no longer need to pay monthly rent. This money would go towards paying off the mortgage. This would help the church establish a permanent Gospel witness in the community as well as not waste money in rent every month. 

The church is also saving for a building from its own offerings and special gifts. As of 1.18.26 the church currently has $8842 saved in it's building fund. We are praying the church will be able to continue to save and church members will continue to be burdened to give towards this project. We also would like to help the church towards this purchase by raising funds.

How Gifts Are Used

Donations designated for the NYC Chinatown Building fund will be used to support the church planting work in NYC, including the purchase of land, a building, or other construction/architectural expenses. If the project needs are met or cannot be completed, remaining funds will support other building or ministry projects in New York City or elsewhere in North America.
